Ring-Based AR Controls for Spectacles

This thesis presents a ring with an inertial measurement unit that tracks its rotation around the finger to control objects and menus in AR glasses. In a 25-person study, ring rotation was faster and more usable than pinch gestures for translating objects, with no significant difference in translation error. For menu search, a combined ring-and-gesture method performed best, while ring-only input produced more selection errors.
