The Long Quiet is a novel about the unspectacular apocalypse: no single catastrophe, just systems failing faster than they get fixed. It follows one small town across the year the maps stopped being updated.

It is fiction, but every survival detail is drawn from the same Vault that backs the field notes. The door at the end of each part opens into the research.
